6mR “JOY” is looking for a new home!
During golden 30’s Tore Holm designed several six meter regatta winners. 6mR “JOY” is one of them with typical Tore Holm lines. These boats are very competitive when sailing upwind. With 6mR “JOY” you do not have to worry who is next to you at the starting line.
Year 2011 ended the 1st phase of the extensive restoration program of 6mR “JOY” which was done in M-Yachts, Loviisa. Everything was checked and no compromises were made. The syndicate wanted to restore the speed and glory of 6mR “JOY” as the first owner Hilding Silander planned when purchasing the drawings from Tore Holm and selecting the Wilenius Båtvarv as the builder. Even after the renovation
project 6mR “JOY” still has some of the special characteristics of this magnificent boat which could be seen in pictures from 30’s like special shape of the aft opening and long rudder with special bronze fitting.
With current set-up and top condition 6mR “JOY” has proven been fast and competitive. Several regatta wins and even more podium positions in the large and competitive Finnish Six Meter fleet in the last ten years. For the World Cup 2019 in Hanko 6mR “JOY” got the new mast and the complete new set of Grand Prix quality DOYLE Stratis sails. Modeling of sails, rig and boat were done with most modern design programs in Doyle in New Zealand. In the
hands of even more competitive crew the result could have been even better than 8th out of 32 boats.

Clyde was built in 1955 for a Mr McMillan, foreman and last person in charge at Fife boatyard, Fairlie, Scotland. She is actually a Fife design too from a pre -World War Fife design.
Clyde is a sizeable 6 built for Scottish waters and conditions:
LOA 11m10
Beam 1,83
Draft 1.69.
She always proved to be faster above10/12 knots of wind.
Her current owner has had her in Brittany since 1984. Then a cruising 6, she went through a complete hull revision and reconditioning to racing conditions; this encompassed a new deck lay-out, hull reinforcement at shrouds liaison, wooden mast and boom were replaced by aluminium spars, new winches and sails etc. This restoration was conducted by Chantier Pichavant in Brittany.
In 1995 she had her mahogany keel replaced, this operation was conducted by the same boatyard.
Since 2008, she has been used as a day boat.
During her racing years, Clyde won the classic regatta belle Plaisance and came second in Coupe de l’Entente Cordiale, a 6 metre French-British reunion in Benodet, Brittany.
Clyde is currently docked at Chantier Hubert Stagnol, at Combrit-Sainte Marine 29120 France.
She is for sale for 40.000€ but any decent offers will be considered.

Victoria (FIN 76, ex, GBR 69, ex. N 51) is a classic 6 metre in good racing condition, designed by John Anker and built at the Anker & Jensen yard in Norway in 1933. Johan Anker designed two 6mR boats during 1932. One, Norna III, was built for Kronprins Olav with the build number 369, and a second, Una IV now Victoria, with the build number 377. Victoria was commissioned by Rolf Svinndal in Oslo with the intention to have a beautiful boat for the 50 years’ celebration regatta of KNS in 1933. From 1935 onward Victoria had many Norwegian owners and names (Hurra 3, Wiba, Mosse 4, Bølgen) until she was purchased to the UK in 2003 and then later to Finland in 2014.
Extensive maintenance and restoration work have been carried out by Finnish shipwrights. All structural parts are in proper order to take the loads. Victoria has an aluminium mast and a stainless-steel rod rigging. Winches and all deck hardware are up to date and modern. She has participated in local Finnish regattas every summer and she carries a fully competitive set of racing sails as well as an assortment of cruising sails. Wherever Victoria shows up, she turns heads as one of the most beautiful sixes from the desk and yard of one of the most renowned designers in the world.
